The Performing Arts course at the Centre for Media Studies provides an immersive journey
into the world of artistic expression, cultivating both technical proficiency and creative

From classical dance to contemporary dance and experimental theatre, the course explores a

interpretations and developing their own unique creative perspectives. The course also
provides students with the opportunity to learn and apply theatrical skills within the context
of developing and performing a mega stage production under the guidance of a professional
artist.

• Minimum of 50% marks for Karnataka Students and 60% marks for outside students (aggregate) in the qualifying examination Application for admission to college must be in the prescribed form.

Programme objectives of the Performing Arts Programme are to -
1. Provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the core disciplines of music,
dance, and drama.
2. Build intellectual and aesthetic understanding of the craft and technique of performing
arts.
3. Foster a strong foundation in the history, theory, and cultural contexts of performing
arts.
4. Explore the diversity of performing arts and its intersection with community, culture
and society.
5. Produce diverse productions that challenge students and engage the university
community.
6. Prepare students for potential careers in the performing arts industry.
Upon completion of the 3 year course, the students will be equipped with the skills and
experience necessary to successfully participate in the creation and performance of a mega
stage production, guided by a professional artist. Other programme outcomes include -
