We began each year with an orientation in the month of September 2008. Orientation day is to help the fresher get acquainted with the tradition and culture of the institute. The year ahead was filled with activities – academic and co-curricular. The following are the glimpses of the various activities carried out by the departments which helped our students to enter the profession with a base for continued study and growth.
 Class room Class Room Learning is made interested through Case Studies, Simulation, Assignments, Presentation and Projects.
Formal classroom sessions are supplemented with frequent guest lectures by experts from industrial and academic fields.
Workshops, Group Discussions, Field researches and personality development programs are frequently arranged to equip the students to be placed top industries.
In order to bridge the gap between the educational institutions and industries, JNC has tie up with leading software company HCL.
To meet the demand of the industry various add-on courses are offered to the students to enhance their skills

Co-curricular activities form the core of student's life here at Jyoti Nivas. It helps to develop the all-round personality of the students and gives them the opportunity to recognize their hidden talents. It is a time of fun and togetherness.
- The department of M.A organized a Literary week. It is a forum for the students to exhibit their literary talents. The students were also given the chance to Practice Teaching
- ‘Enthios’ - ‘Quest for Zest,’ is a weeklong annual fest, organized by the MCA students. There were 15 events such as Debugging, Web designing, Junk art out of waste material, quiz, Advertising, Treasure Hunt, Best caption and Collage.
- ‘Spark’ is the management week organized by MBA department that ignites the fire within the students of MBA. The various events conducted are Business Quiz, The Best Manager , Management Games, The Marketing Event, The Finance Event, The Human Resource Event, Team building event, Entrepreneurship and The B-plan.
- Christmas day celebration was another occasion for the students to come together. It gave them an opportunity to spread the joy of the season and sing carols.
- Sports competitions, spread over two days, was a unique feature this year. The students enthusiastically participated in various Indoor & outdoor games. At the end of the two days, prizes were given to the winners.
Outreach Programme
The College aims at grooming students to be socially committed and provide opportunities to recognize their social responsibility and contribute towards the betterment of the society. Our student community undertakes a host of social initiatives. Regular visits are made to the Rehabilitation Centre for Leprosy and AIDS patients situated at Somenahalli, Bangalore. This helps our students to undergo educational training in its most comprehensive sense.
Placement Cell
There is a separate wing effectively functioning for the cause of placing our students in top Industries. Various reputed companies frequently visit our institution and we are proud of our students who are placed in reputed firms such as HP, ORACLE, IBM, Tavent Technologies, NAL, Ford, DataNet Nutech Systems, Khelo India ABB Global Industries and Services Limited, etc

Internship for MBA
Candidates will have to undergo 8 weeks internship training compulsorily in an organization of repute in India or Abroad after the II Semester in any one area of – Marketing / Finance / Human Resource. This provides the students with the opportunities of applying those concepts learnt in their classrooms to real-life situations.
