The Department of MCA was established in 2003. Within a short span of time, this has grown to be one of the finest departments. Many students have been absorbed for employment in various reputed companies. A modular course design, along with hands on experience in in-house software development and also in the industry, gives students the freedom to tailor their learning experience. The following are the various activities carried out by the department to enter the profession with a base for continued study and growth.

Training Beyond Curriculum

     Formal classroom sessions are supplemented with frequent guest lectures by experts from industrial and academic fields. Apart from the above, workshops, group discussions and personality development programs are  frequently arranged to place students in top companies. To bridge the gap between the educational institutions and industries, JNC has tie up with leading software company HCL.

      To guide the students in their endeavor to succeed, experts of the industry are invited to address them and visits are made to companies.

National Level Conference
    

      The department has conducted a National Level Conference on "Intelligent Computing and Parallel Processing" on September 2006. 15 papers were presented from different parts of the country and around 175 participants benefited from this conference. We had incredibly vital persons from reputed companies and institutions like GE Global Research, Vibgyor, Siearra Atlantic, IIT Madras, Bangalore University, ICFAI and Bharathidasan University to provide Keynote Address.

      To  meet the demand of the IT sector short-term or certificate courses are conducted to upgrade the knowledge of the students in ORACLE, J2EE, .Net, Web Design, Testing tools and Embedded Systems.

     Enthios, an annual fest was organized by the students of MCA during the last week of September. More than 100 students participated in various events like  Melo-Mania,  Color-Blenz,  Howzzat, Junk Art,   Mad-adds, etc. Sports were organized for the post graduate students. Enthios concluded on the 29^th with the prize distribution ceremony awarding the deserving winners.

Placement Cell

     There is a separate wing effectively functioning for the cause of placements of students in IT Industries. The final year students participated in the on-campus and off-campus recruitment process conducted by reputed software firms.  Our pioneering efforts have borne fruits in achieving academic-industrial rapport and we are proud that some of our students are absorbed by leading giants in the industrial firmament.  For more details, Click here....

      At JNC, we always believed in offering holistic education to the wider sections of the society  without any discrimination. As part of this, regular visits are made to the Rehabilitation Centre for Leprosy and AIDS patients situated at Sumanahalli, Bangalore. This  helps our  students to undergo educational training in its most comprehensive sense.
